The Evil Within
16/05/2015; 16/05/2015
Shakespeare created some of literature’s most memorable, strong and villainous women – women who craved power and had a deep desire for justice… or vengeance. Many of these women ultimately met their downfall. But was it because they were evil? Or because their headstrong actions threatened those in power?
In this original dance and physical theatre work
created by Lindsey McAlister, Anca Chung and Phoebe Chu, a group of talented young performers explore some of Shakespeare’s most powerful and ruthless women, including Lady Macbeth and the witches (Macbeth), Tamora (Titus Andronicus), Goneril (King Lear), Queen (Cymbeline) and Queen Margaret (Henry VI).
